“Somewhere Over The Rainbow”
Over the Rainbow was the first private day nursery to open in Belfast. Established by Seamus and Bernie McElroy in January 1988, the site in Eglantine Avenue, Malone Road, Belfast provided a much needed quality childcare facility for working parents in the greater Belfast area at a time when good affordable childcare was virtually non-existent.
The demand for the service quickly grew and in September 1989 a second childcare facility was established at nearby Deramore Drive.
“The secret of our success has always been the personal service we provide. As two qualified teachers, we understand the needs of both children and parents. We were driven to set up our childcare service when I experienced my own difficulties in finding suitable childcare for our children when I decided to return to teaching. Our personal experience of bringing up a family of five children, along with our many years of dedication and commitment to ensuring the needs of parents and children are fully met, provide a perfect support system for today’s working parents”.
At Over the Rainbow we offer a service of care and education that enables you to continue your career secure in the knowledge that your child’s needs are being fully met.
We cater for babies, tiny tots, toddlers, pre-school and after school care.
Niche Nurseries
A conscious decision was made many years ago when the opportunity was ripe, to resist the temptation to expand Over the Rainbow. Instead, all our efforts were channelled into procuring an excellent management structure which would broaden and perfect what has become a much sought after service. This attention to detail ensures that the nursery’s standards are maintained to the highest level and was officially recognised in 2010 when we were awarded the “INVESTORS IN PEOPLE AWARD”
