Over the Rainbow seeks to promote the best possible people available. Although we employ qualified experienced childcare professionals, we fully recognise that continuous training and development is vital to keep abreast of changing attitudes and practices.
“Experience has shown us that high quality childcare depends on well trained, motivated, caring staff who work productively to provide a programme of activities which meet the needs and interests of each individual child and at the same time developing concentrated play and learning”.
Miss Bernie
Records of staff performance, training, qualifications and appraisals are used effectively by our managers to support staff development and to sustain our exceptionally high standard of care and commitment to excellence.
We have continuously aimed to create a special friendly atmosphere at Over the Rainbow where parents, children and staff are given the utmost respect. This has resulted in low staff turnover, high morale and peace of mind for parents because their child is being cared for by motivated, experienced adults.
Key Worker System
At Over the Rainbow the importance of closeness and intimacy with the child is given priority through the Key Worker System. This is where one member of staff is allocated three or four children for which she takes special responsibility. The key worker plays a valuable part in ensuring that each child’s needs are met each day, physically, intellectually and emotionally. Our key worker staff skilfully encourage and enable the children to use their experiences of play to achieve real learning and development.
