A beautiful bright room with direct access to the outside playground has been purposefully redesigned and equipped for the 2 – 3 year old age group. The inquisitive mind of a two year old knows no boundaries and the playroom is designed with this in mind with low level shelving housing a wide range of appropriate equipment to satisfy the curious needs of these independent thinkers. With a staffing ratio of 1:4, each key-worker knows the value of being close to the visual level of the child to support and extend their choice of activity and take the lead from each child’s individual interests. Our staff is acutely aware of the importance of good listening skills and the toddler’s need to practice emerging speech. Therefore, although at this age a lot of the play is physical, each key-worker encourages speech development at every opportunity.
